yes, you need a website. Here are 7 steps to success:

    Step 1: Get a website

If you do not have a website or blog, it’s not hard to get one. There are several blog sites that you can sign up to for free, such as wordpress or blogger. If you want to create a website you can purchase a domain and a web host for your site. Godaddy and Hostgator are a couple that have reasonable prices. So, the first step is to get a blog or website up and running, if you do not have one already.

    Step 2

The next step would be to sign up to commission junction.

    Step 3

Once signed up you can browse through the different advertisers, they have over 1,000 to choose from. Click on get links from the homepage. there will be categories of advertisers to choose from. Click on a category to look at the advertiser list in the category you chose. To find out more details about their program you can click on the advertiser that you are interested in.

    Step 4

Try to pick an advertiser that sells a product or service that is associated with your blog or website, so you have more of a chance of earning some money. Once you find one you are interested in you will have to click on the "join program" button. You will have to agree to their terms and conditions so read them carefully. Some programs will approve you automatically and some will approve you manually.
Once you are approved for a program it will be added to your link relation ship list, which is a list of all the advertisers that approved you. to post their links on your website or blog.

    Step 5

To get the link for the advertiser that approved you, click on the get links tab from the homepage of commission junction. Then click on the by relationship tab, you will see a list of all the advertiser programs that have approved you. Then you will click on the view links under the advertiser you want to get a link for (make sure you choose an advertiser that says you are active). If you choose to post a link from an advertiser that is not active (or has not approved you yet) to your website or blog, you will not collect a commission on the sales or leads.

    Step 6

Next step will be choosing a link or banner. When you click on "view links" a list will pop up for all the links that you can post on your site or blog. Once you find a link you like click on it and from there you can copy HTML or JAVA for that links and paste it to you website or blog.

    Step 7

Once you paste it to your blog or website, click publish and the link should appear there. That’s it you’re done, now your site is monetized by commission junction.

Here is another way to become an affiliate by reselling services…

For instance these guys Rockbridge Designs build websites and offer commission on leads that turns into a sale. They have a fully automated affiliate program so all you need to do is promote their services on your blog, website, your friends, email with the text links and banners they provide you. I think they even give affiliates special coupons to that the affiliate’s referred person even gets a discount. If a visitor likes what they read on your post and click on your link to their site and they place an order, the software will send you commission in your PayPal account. You almost always need a PayPal account for affiliate programs ( or a real business bank account ). The best way is to write a nice review but focused on the audience that they sell to (in this case home contractors) and include the affiliate link somewhere on your post. Go to sites where contractors hang out and ask questions like Contractor Talk forums. By making the referrals that turn into sales, your PayPal account starts to grow and you don’t need to sell anything yourself except promote the services of your affiliate partner. That’s a sweet deal if you do it right..!!

Best of all signing up for most affiliates are usually free. If you are being charged to become an affiliate then something is wrong and run for the hills! Signing up as an affiliate should not cost you anything except your time and effort in promoting their products on your websites!!

    Good luck to you…

You don’t *need* a website to start with affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is simply the process of finding people with a need and connecting them (through your affiliate link) with a product or service to fill their need.

As a new affiliate, start with your friends, co-workers and family. Find out if anyone needs anything in particular… like a new computer, a specific CD, hosting, clothing, toys, just about anything. If they do, tell them you’ll do the research for them and send them your recommendation. You can then go into Commission Junction, compare a few merchants and send your friend your affiliate link to the merchant you recommend. If your friend signs up, you earn a commission. Will cost you nothing but a little time to do the leg work.
